Description:
- PIR stands for “Passive Infrared,” which basically means it doesn’t emit any light or energy itself. Instead, it senses the tiny fluctuations in infrared radiation (heat) that everything gives off.
- Inside the sensor it have two special pyroelectric crystals that act like tiny heat detectors.
- The functionality of the PIR Motion Sensor is based on its ability to detect infrared radiation patterns associated with the movement of warm-blooded creatures.
- PIR sensors have adjustable sensitivity knobs or settings, allowing you to control how big of a temperature change it takes to trigger the alarm.
- When a person or animal moves within the sensor’s detection range, the changes in the infrared radiation pattern trigger the sensor to generate an electrical signal.
- The sensor have three pins i.e. VCC, GND, and Output.
